Letters of Recommendation
To the future clients of CEBU Caregiving,
In early November of 2018, I contracted with Ophelia to provide 24 hours a day, 7 days a week care for my dad who was 88 and whose heart had recently gone into atrial fibrillation. My dad was living alone at the time and his health had been in slow decline for the past several months. At the end of October he was hospitalized for about 1 week for AFib and an infection, and was transferred to a skilled nursing facility for little more than 2 weeks before discharged to home. I had to immediately identify a caregiver service to assist him with day-to-day living needs and to administer the occupational and physical therapies as outlined by the respective nurses who routinely visited his home during this time to monitor the progress. Ophelia’s team was wonderful and able to accommodate their requests, and provide gentle care for him to ensure he was comfortable at all times.
The care team that Ophelia selected was a good fit for my dad, and they became a part of my family, especially one of the caregivers (Josh) who spent a lot time with him and celebrated with me my last Christmas with my dad. I visited a few times a week and her team continued to show compassion and care until the end of his life.
I am forever indebted to Ophelia and her team for the great support and care they gave to my dad and the easy transition in the last 5 weeks of his life. Their experience and knowledge was very evident, and gave me peace to know my dad was in good hands. I highly recommend CEBU Caregiving to anyone who has a family member that needs this type of service. Please contact me for any questions you may have.
To prospective clients of CEBU Caregiving,
Ophelia’s caregivers have been carefully and skillfully helping my mother, Mary, through recovery from a broken pelvis. We had CEBU’s help from about mid-November to the end of January this year, seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Mary is 91 and nearly blind. She has a number of aches, pains, and is quite fragile. CEBU’s team were able to accommodate her and do more than just meet her needs.
She loved many of the caregivers and we all felt very close, like family. I visited at least weekly, and the CEBU team simply “adopted” me as well as my Mom. There were just a couple of Ophelia’s workers whose personalities did not work as well with my mom as others did, but Ophelia responded with speed and grace to rearrange the care schedule.
CEBUs workers continued to show kindness and care above what was required. They suggested methods of soothing my mom’s aches and pains and I was grateful for their wisdom and experience which they shared so generously with me and my mom. I would recommend Ophelia and CEBU to anyone.
Ophelia Harrop and her team provided care for my mother in the last 11 weeks of her life. Ophelia started with brief visits in the morning and evening to aid in medication management, dressing and preparation for bed. As Mom’s needs increased, Ophelia was able to increase the amount of care each day to include escorting to meals and simple wound management. Her team covered her needs 7 days a week and was able to expand to 24-hour coverage at the end of her life. Ophelia sang with my mother and was always able to get a smile on her face. Her team provided compassionate care and I would highly recommend them.
